Deluxe New York has opened its’ doors. Deluxe New York is a project which should help stimulate the film business in New York City.

“We are thrilled that Deluxe is making a commitment to our city and our economy, and I welcome them,” Bloomberg said.

Deluxe, which owns facilities around the world, is a subsidiary of MacAndrews & Forbes Holdings, for which Ronald Perelman serves as chairman and CEO. Perelman and Deluxe president/CEO Cyril Drabinsky also participated in Thursday’s ceremony.

New York State is preparing to boost the below-the-line tax credit for film and TV productions to 30%, plus an added 5% for New York City projects.

The new facility in the West Village houses a full-grade movie studio. Mayor Michael Bloomberg was on hand for the opening.
